A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I went for a walk on the PPJ which runs through our property along the Ottawa River near Waltham. It was ‘one of those days’; sunny, warm, and peaceful.  It made us think how fortunate we
are in the Pontiac to have unlimited access to this great ‘natural’ resource.

On our return home, I read Jane Toller’s letter to the editor enthusiastically talking about the proposed aqua/wellness center designed to encourage “a better quality of life for all generations”.
Fresh in from our walk, I immediately thought what a great pairing that could be; the aqua/wellness center and the PPJ could complement each other in their mutual goal of providing the means for healthier living. They could have joint promotions, and I’m sure with time, more health-oriented businesses would be created with both local and tourist dollars in mind.
Greener garbage disposal, healthy living, more tourists and more jobs; the potential, as the Warden says, is there, but it’s up to us to give our support.
